“And the space named Ganswein says…

…’I’m staying with the bloke, and moving with the bloke!'” How on earth he can stay with Benedict in the monastry in the mountains, and still be Prefect of the Papal Household, I don’t know. I reckon he’s gonna do a James bond thing, and parachute in in summer, and ski down in winter, as he’s such a good skiier. He can fly planes too! Reckon it’ll take this to keep this double life up! Hey, do ya think if we fed him kryptonite (or chocolate; he’s got a very sweet tooth), he’d fly to my house and sweep me (weighing a lot) upĀ in his arms? I can dream…I’ll share a box of Thorntons with him any day lol.

RIP Richard Briers

I was introduced to The Good Life by my parents. I still think it’s one of the funniest shows I’ve ever seen, and it starred a stellar cast. Paul Eddington, and now, sadly, the great Richard Briers have now passed away. At least we can have the comfort that thanks to video and DVD, Briers’ and Eddington’s incredible talent can live on for us. A very sad day for fans, but we are thankful that his work still exists for us to see. You see, repeats aren’t always bad!!

Well…I wasn’t expecting that…

Pope Benedict XVI does seem to be good at surprising people! I can understand his reasons for stepping down. A comment frequently heard in the last stages of John Paul II’s papacy was “Why doesn’t he step down? We can see how ill he is”. Even if the Church chooses a Pope from outside Europe, the candidates they can choose from are all of an age (late 60’s being the youngest, I think). Obviously my concern now is what will happen to his lovely secretary. Georg Ganswein may be nice to look at, and very capable, but if the new pope brings his own people, I don’t know what his position will be. he is very much Ratzinger’s man. Watch this space…
